Welcome to Amboseli-Tsavo West. Tsavo West is a scenic marvel, and its visit includes a stop at the Mzima Springs and Rhino Sanctuary. The tour explores Amboseli with its immense elephant herds, including other wildlife species. Amboseli provides the best vantage points to view the awesome free-standing Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest in Africa, and its snow-capped peaks (weather permitting).
Day 1: Nairobi – Amboseli
Upon arrival at the JKIA, you are met and greeted by us. We then transfer you to a city hotel for breakfast. Soon after, you proceed south of Nairobi, initially driving on Mombasa Road before diverting onto the Namanga Road on a drive to Amboseli. The scenery on this drive is predominantly of open, wide spaces characterized by a sparse settlement system, mainly along the road. You arrive at the Amboseli Serena lodge in time for lunch.
The early afternoon is spent at leisure within the lodge premises, and in the evening, you depart on a game drive till dusk. Dinner and overnight at a lodge or tented camp.
Day 2: Amboseli
At 6:00 am, you depart from your hotel and proceed on an early morning game drive in the Amboseli National Park. On a clear morning, you will easily see the snowcap that crowns its peak from the comfort of your hotel room or while out on a game drive. Most of this park consists of a dry, ancient lake bed and fragile grasslands with patches of acacia woodland. It is in this part, more than anywhere else perhaps in the continent, that you are bound to see large herds of elephants. Around 8:30 am, you return to the lodge for a delightful breakfast. The rest of the morning and early afternoon is spent at leisure within the hotel. Lunch at Lodge/Tented Camp. In the evening, proceed on a game-watching expedition till dusk. On a clear day, the sunset in the Amboseli is simply out of this world. Dinner and overnight at your lodge or tented camp.
